Vehicle description

Triumph TR4A from 1965, registered in Barcelona in 1976, and in Signal Red color (RAL code 3001)

This unit features the rare original “Surrey” roof that makes the vehicle a kind of Targa, and was sold as an option at the time. The car is delivered with the rear part of this roof, but not with the Targa roof part.

Unit in good body and chassis condition, preserved, never restored and with some superficial rust spots. Complete original interior with wooden Moto-Lita Mark Five steering wheel.

Engine in very good condition and up-to-date on maintenance, mounting the “Twin Box” double exhaust.

The Triumph TR4 hit the market in 1961 as a replacement for its predecessor TR3 and was designed by the Italian Giovanni Michelotti. After several evolutions, in 1965 the TR4A and the TR4A IRS (Independent rear suspension) were presented with the novelty of the independent rear suspension, which greatly improved the behavior of the vehicle and makes this version the most desired among the TR4s.

2.138cc 4-cylinder 104hp engine with 4-speed gearbox.
